While talking, brainstorming, and creating the idea of "Nostalgia Mexican Ice Cream" it always seemed to lead to a conversation of a cherished childhood memory. One way or another we were left with a sensation of nostalgia. Nostalgia was simply a name we could not avoid and it became the foundation of our vision. It's a universal theme and an experience we would love to share with our community. We strive to provide quality handcrafted Helados, a frozen treat that's provided us with sweet long-lasting memories, one scoop at a time.
Helados are a true Mexican culinary gem that's closely related to Italian Gelato. Helados can be dated back to pre-Hispanic times in Mexico. It's believed that the culture of the Teotihuacanos were the first to introduce this delicacy in Mexico. Helados, meaning "frozen" in Spanish, are made using fresh ingredients and churned in a garrafa, a large metal cylinder. This churning method incorporates a minimal amount of air into the Helados, producing a denser texture, along with a low fat content results in a rich, dense, and creamy Helado.
Our Helados are crafted using traditional recipes and techniques that make Mexican ice cream stand out from the rest. More importantly the churning process is unique, we use a garrafa to churn all of our ice cream. This method churns the ice cream inside a large metal cylinder at a much slower and colder temperature producing a denser creamier texture. This alongside with fresh quality ingredients provides a unique mouthwatering frozen treat.
